Greetings and Happy New Year from your friends at SAHAHR
We send our best wishes to you and your family for 2026 from South Asian Heritage Association of Hamilton and Region (SAHAHR). SAHAHR is a not for profit organization based in Hamilton. Our mission is to showcase the diverse cultures of South Asian countries including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, and to foster a sense of pride in the younger generation about their cultural roots. We strive to build a strong and united South Asian community within the Canadian mosaic.
2025 has been a busy and exciting year for SAHAHR, marked by several major events and new faces. We celebrated our regular activities including the Annual Spring Festival of South Asia, and the Canada Day Picnic. In 2026 SAHAHR plans to host a series of events every few months to celebrate South Asian culture, support community members, and address important social issues. Topics will include anti violence awareness, welcoming newcomers especially international students, children’s activities, and cultural performances.
We look forward to increased participation from the growing South Asian community in Hamilton and the surrounding area this year. Please pass on the word to your friends and encourage them to become members. Annual membership is only 10 dollars per person per year and can be sent by INTERAC e transfer to office@southasianheritage.org.

On January 10, 2026, we invite you to join the South Asian Heritage Association of Hamilton and Region for our Annual General Meeting, followed by a Meet and Greet and Karaoke.
This event provides an opportunity for members and guests to review organizational updates, engage in discussion, and connect with the SAHAHR community.
You are all warmly invited. Please see the attached poster for more details. Registration is mandatory, as refreshments will be arranged accordingly.
